Darnley Bay Anomaly Gravity Models – 3D View

This document describes the 3D view of the fine gravity model for the Darnley Bay Anomaly. The preparation of this and other models is fully described in Chapter 8 of the following report, which is available for viewing on SEDAR (www.sedar.com).

Stephen W. Reford, 2007, Technical Report for the Strategic Review, Darnley Bay, NWT, Public Report, Paterson, Grant & Watson Limited, October 25, 2007.

The layer display shows the density contrast at the following elevations:

At sea level
1000 m below sea level
2000 m below sea level
4000 m below sea level and
6000 m below sea level.

The purplish colours indicate zones of positive density contrast, whereas the bluish colours indicate zones of negative density contrast. The zones of positive density contrast are of greatest interest for further exploration. The layer at sea level is incomplete due to the ocean at the north end of the area. A vertical exaggeration of 15 was applied to the display, so that the individual layers can be viewed. These layers correspond to Figure 8-35 to 8-39 in the abovementioned report.
